If Your Marketing Guru Is A Spammer, Run Away. Fast.

Have you been spammed by Bookman Marketing LLC? If not, it’s only a matter of time. The proprieter, one Brien Jones, apparently spends his days harvesting email addresses (based on our admittedly limited research, he trolls various websites; today’s spam was addressed to an address that has nothing to do with writing, via a website completely unrelated to writing and/or publishing). Mr. Jones seems to think he can help you! He can’t. He’s obviously clueless, not to mention irritating, not only because he’s indiscriminate in his spamming but because he believes

Bookman Marketing is the only company in the publishing industry contacting bookstore owners and selling books.

If wasn’t the blogging equivalent of shooting fish in a barrel, we’d go to town on this assertion. As it is, we’ll just leave you with a warning: this guy is a spammer. The only people who have heard of him are people he’s spammed. He is clearly unethical. If you’re serious about your career, run far away.

I haven’t yet heard from Brien Jones.

Why not? Is something wrong with my blog?

Well, he’s never actually contacted me via this blog, but the last contact was via a blog we run for the money-making business. I’m sure you’re doing everything you can to be spammed — just give it time. Also, it’s really helpful if you drop your email address (easily harvested, so no extra spaces or writing out “A T” “D O T”) all over the place. Make sure to mention that you’re a writer looking for a good time.

This guy spams in waves, from what I’ve noticed. You’ll get your turn, never fear.

Congratu…uh…lations. I knew it was just a matter of time. Now you can sit back and enjoy the frustration of never being removed from his mailing list. You know what they about being careful what you ask for…
