When I was a Bluebird (the poor mother once thought I was appropriate for organized girly stuff; this was the mother who compromised by conceding that reading on porch was playing outside), we made turkeys out of Reader’s Digests. As my turkey fan is based upon this great time-waster, I think going much further would be dangerous. Also, I don’t know what happened to my uniform. Probably wouldn’t fit anyway. Never did look good in short skirts anyway.

Plus royalties are so much fun. Truly. I am, if truth be told, having a small discussion tomorrow on the glory that is the holding and releasing of reserves. You, much to your dismay, know me well enough to understand that there’s a certain frisson of whatever is frissoned (which may not be appropriate for this blog) in me. You hold a reserve, you release a reserve…the joy.

Besides a girl needs a challenge once she’s sworn off male bashing.

You should have planned ahead many months ago for your need. If I must suffer, you must suffer. You will have to make do with paper skeletons and carved pumpkins like the rest of us (if arranged in a pleasing pleated fashion, they can catch the breeze like nothing else). Soon there will be cardboard turkeys on the market — if attached to a popsicle stick, they create a lovely personal cooling device that is both portable and energy efficient.
