And then they wonder why so many copies end up on the remains shelf, priced lower than a paperback. And even then, people don’t seem to want to buy it.

I don’t think they’ll be taking your very sound advice, though. Soon there will be a report in PW about the huge adance, and we will all groan. (Except Donald, who will chuckle all the way to the bank with the check.)

I suppose the only thing left will be to say, “I told you so” when we spot all those remaindered copies 6 months later.

Hear, hear! And then some.
I gave up buying memoirs recently, after reading through “CIA Bob’s” (Robert Baer) memoir of his life in the boring CIA.
And then there will be Tony Blair’s memoirs… no thanks.
