There was quite a bit to catch our attention in the article about the book Waiting to be Heard. First, of course, is the fact the book is comprised of short stories written by teenagers. Second, is the dedication of both students and adults (including Dave Eggers and Isabel Allende). Third, well, the fact that for many, peace isn’t all about listening to birds sing under sunny skies. We applaud the bravery and honesty exhibited by the authors of this collection — and sincerely hope they continue to use their talents in such a positive way.
