We confess: one of the least popular gifts we gave our mother was an AARP membership. Why? Because she didn’t like the implication. Of course, now she sees how membership saves, and appreciates our thoughtfulness more. That and it’s like getting carded again. For authors, AARP offers a very special benefit: yes, we’re talking cold, hard cash (or, more likely, a warm and fuzzy check). MediaBistro spills the beans on pitching to a well read magazine.
