We cannot count the number of times we’ve said “just because Hunter S. Thompson does it, it doesn’t mean you have to do it, too” to the husband. Who generally replied, “Yes it does.” Needless to say, since he heard about the cannon, nothing less will make him happy.

Sheesh. That guy and his guns. Hasn’t there been entirely too much shooting already?
There is a theory about overcompensating. But we won’t go there. I’m rather hoping the husband will forget about the cannon thing. Of course, I keep hoping he’ll forget every dumb thing I’ve ever done…and that hasn’t happened.
In theory, this should be the end of the HST gun fascination. There’s nowhere left to go. So to speak.
