    I’ve seen information about this before. I think they had something about Amazon selling the entire collection at 40% off on Bibliophilist.com. It comes down to a decent price per book, but yikes! I would much prefer to pay a little extra per title and get just the ones I wanted.

    I don’t know. Penguin comes close to fulfilling a long ruminated upon fantasy of mine involving owning every volume of the Library of America. Sure, there’s no way in hell that anyone could do this — unless confining one’s self to a warren on a ramen diet without working for several years is worth the sacrifice. And yet there still exists the temptation, as unsavory and as incompatible with regular life as it may seem.

    You know, they say that a diet consisting exclusively of ramen leads to Methusalah-like lifespans. I think it’s the preservatives.
