Cricket Pechstein (founder of the Christina Pechstein Agency — we’re sensing someone has a nickname) and Jeffery McGraw (late of Harpercollins) have joined forces to form The August Agency. Since they have a website, we leave it to you know learn all about submitting and what they want from you. We will go out on a limb and suggest that knowledge of Latin might be a bonus, though, obviously, not required.

Hmm, the golden age of Roman literature? Augustus built a lot of roads and aqueducts but wasn’t much for literature. Ovid’s Metamorphosis had to be toned down so as not to offend the emperor’s conservative sensibilities. Bad playwrights were sometimes beheaded; think of the possibilities! TV would be a blank space. Not ESPN though.

    David,

One thinks you’re biased. Less Latin, more football. We’d prefer the opposite…

We’ll avoid the obvious parallels for the momen. However, if you’re looking for an outlet..
