- Kindle Device Unit Sales Accelerate Each Month in Second Quarter; New $189 Price Results in Tipping Point for Growth
This is an amazing press release. Kindle books outselling hardcovers. Kindle devices still increasing on a quarter over quarter basis. No numbers to crunch (sigh!), but many things to consider.

I’m an avid reader of ebooks, and have been using my iPhone as my reader for some time now. Recently, I got an iPad, so I can read books on both. I use the Apple iBooks app for both reading and purchasing, but I have the Kindle software installed on both.
Right now, I find that the Kindle book store is easier to use than the Apple store, and the prices are usually better. For anyone not aware, a company called Mobile Reference has compiled books containing (almost) ALL of certain authors, such as Charles Dickens, for under $5. All of these works are in public domain, but they add value by putting them in one file, with table of contents for jumping to particular works and chapters. I highly recommend them.
One more nice feature of both the Kindle and iBooks software. I can read something on my iPad, then switch to the iPhone, where I’ve downloaded the same book. They are both synched automatically, so wherever I leave off on one, I pick up on the other. Magic!
