This Won’t Be The Last Time

Call us crazy, but we suspect we’ll be posting lots and lots of breathless “you can read a novel on your cell phone” stories in the coming year. Oh sure, there’s a chance we’ll get bored with the concept, but there’s also a chance we’ll get over our obsession with Lo Mein. Today, we learn that reading novels via cell phone is all the rage in Japan. Also that this bodes well for Random House’s investment in Vocel (which we previously applauded). Also that you can have your cell phone stories turned into a television series. There were other major lessons, but we forget.

I followed the link, read part of the first sentence, “Your eyes probably hurt just thinking about it….” and was too disturbed to continue.

There are some things I really do not wish to know about, Booksquare. Please stop being so doggone thorough.

It is my job to annoy, irritate, and do something else. Probably eat. I’m sure that’s it. I think I was most excited by the part (which you probably missed!) about how convenient it was for readers to pick up a page here, a page there. Sort of like carrying a very tiny paperback with you at all times. Emphasis on the very and tiny.

Will seek out a story on big reading next. For balance!
