A Shout Out

We rarely use this space to promote the lives and welfare of our friends*, but sometimes need triumphs time. Tina Ferraro is a particular friend of Booksquare and has, over the years, served as sounding board, whining board, sympathy board, understanding board, and friendly board, among others. She is also incredibly talented while remaining firmly cynical. Thus, we are pleased to announce the following:

Debut YA author Tina Ferraro’s TOP 10 USES FOR AN UNWORN PROM DRESS, about a high school girl who was dumped a little over 24 hours before last year’s prom and now has two guys fighting over her, to Krista Marino at Random House, by Nadia Cornier at the Creative Media Agency (NA).

We should note that no actual teenagers were harmed during the writing of this book.

* – Because it’s so much easier to con them into doing the work themselves.

Way to go, Tina! I couldn’t be MORE excited for you. Hope you’re going to RWA National so we can see you in your PINK!

Yeaaayyyy, Tina! I know she’s worked long and hard to finally acheive this dream, and I say GOOD FOR HER! Wooo-hooooo!

Thanks so much for the shout-out, and the way-too-kind comments about me and my writing. While it’s true I’ve enjoyed a special bond with Booksquare all these years, I’m nonetheless very touched and flattered by this tribute!

Although my 17-year-old son would take exception to the comment about no teens being hurt. At least twice a month I solicited his carpool for fictional scenarios for my book, (“Okay, so let’s say you’re at a dance…” ) in part to watch him slump down in the passenger seat, cover his face, and will the torture to be OVER.

I just found out the book is going to be released in Spring ’07, during Prom Season. Perfect!
