Thanks for the link — I keep hearing rumors that they’re going to stop the Calendar nonsense (which will also make their writers very happy…), but so far, the content is free to subscribers only. Not a problem for me as I’m a print subscriber, but it always makes me hesitant about linking to LAT stuff.

Boo, that link doesn’t work for me I’m afraid! Any chance of “alternate access” or an emailed copy of the article – sounds like Koontz writes the same way I do, and seeing a full description of his technique would be invaluable. Thanks very much indeed!
I don’t understand all this registration nonsense on newspaper websites either. Are they afraid of losing paper sales? Really aggravating for readers, especially for those of us overseas with no access to the printed version.
